Advanced Spinal Traction Therapy In Lockport
This is a non-surgical, comfortable traction therapy in Lockport for the relief of back, neck, leg, and arm pain. Most of these patients have already been diagnosed with bulging/herniated discs, sciatica, stenosis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and carpal tunnel.
What is Advanced Spinal Traction Therapy in Lockport?
The Chattanooga Triton ® DTS ™ System produces multiple log-rhythmic alternating distractions and relaxation phases. Along with proper patient positioning, a spinal disc can be isolated and placed under negative pressure, creating a vacuum effect.
The goal of this therapy is to bring the disc back to its most natural and correct state, thus eliminating the pressure put onto the spinal cord and/or nerve roots.

The vacuum effect created by Advanced Spinal Traction accomplishes two things. From a mechanical standpoint, disc material that has protruded or herniated outside the normal confines of the disc can be decompressed by the vacuum created. Also, this vacuum rehydrates, denitrifies, reoxygenates, and stimulates blood supply to the injured disc, which is essential for a correct healing response. This ultimately relieves the pressure on the spinal cord and/or nerve roots and results in pain reduction and restoration of functional losses such as muscle strength loss, reflexes, and skin sensation.
The majority of patients who come to the Chicago Anti-Aging Institute for help have failed traditional physical therapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy and have also tried epidural injection, nerve blocks, and nerve ablations. Some of these back and neck pain sufferers not only have failed one but two back surgeries.
Whether it’s from bulging or herniated discs, stenosis, arthritis, or degenerative disc disease, one of the main reasons why these therapies have been ineffective for these patients is the partial or incomplete healing of the disc material off of the spinal cord or nerve roots. The Chattanooga Triton DTS System is able to target the injured disc with its computer, table angles, and patient positioning for the greatest outcomes.
After a significant amount of research, Chicago Anti-Aging Institute chose the Triton® DTS™ system manufactured by the Chattanooga Group, the world's largest manufacturer of physical medicine equipment. Chattanooga Group is a solely-owned subsidiary of Encore Medical, the leading orthopedic device manufacturer. After 25 years of experience, combined with a revolutionary belting system designed for quick setup, comfort, and effectiveness, the Chattanooga Triton® DTS™ system is the gold standard in Advanced Spinal Traction therapy.
As an authorized Chattanooga Triton® DTS™ Center, our office is able to provide a scientific therapy that can restore normal disc health to degenerating, herniated, protruded, or bulging discs. This gentle therapy utilizes a complex traction table that can target specific discs out-performing most other competitors.
The Triton® DTS™ system offers lumbar and cervical Advanced Spinal Traction, as well as, wrist Decompression Therapy, for carpal tunnel syndrome, with a controlled and proven method, all at a fraction of the cost of other competitive devices.
The outcome of traditional traction or flexion-distraction is distraction and mobilization. Various human studies have proven that traction and flexion-distraction can cause spinal muscle guarding, producing a significant increase in muscle spasms and pain. The Chattanooga Triton® DTS™ system utilizes pelvic angles built into the table to focus directly on one single spinal disc and not the entire spine. Thus, more pounds per square inch are capable of decompressing the injured disc and not producing potential patient muscle spasming or unnecessary guarding.
The Triton® DTS™ computer controls the variations in the traction pull allowing for spinal decompression and eliminating muscle guarding that is typical in conventional traction devices.
Any back or neck pain caused even partially by a damaged disc may be helped by Advanced Spinal Traction Therapy. These conditions include herniated, protruding or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis, posterior facet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, or radiculopathy (pinched nerves).
Traditional techniques have not proven to be very effective in chronic disc-related low-back and neck conditions. While traditional chiropractic and physical therapy methods, nutrition, exercise, and stress management are preferred avenues, other measures are sometimes necessary to achieve desired results.
The Chattanooga Triton® DTS™ system is a gentle, non-surgical alternative that has shown a very high rate of success at reducing or even eliminating the worst back and neck pain. If you suffer from chronic, debilitating, low back or neck pain, you owe it to yourself to call our office today to make an appointment to see if you’re a candidate.
There are typically 24 sessions, with most patients feeling pain relief after the 5th or 6th visit. Each session includes Advanced Spinal Traction Therapy, physiotherapy, and spinal stabilization exercises and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. It is important to remember that pain subsiding does not mean that your discs and spine are healed. It is critical that patients stick with the treatment protocol prescribed by the doctor in order to achieve the full value of DTS™ Therapy.
At Chicago Anti-Aging Institute, the patient's comfort is our top priority and we want your visits to be enjoyable and successful. Treatments are short in duration and administered while the patient is fully clothed.
We are capable of handling patients in severe pain and unlike any other Advanced Spinal Traction or decompression devices; the doctor has positioning options available according to each individual.
In the majority of cases, the treatments are completely painless. Many patients fall asleep during Advanced Spinal Traction therapy.
Yes, Advanced Spinal Traction is not recommended for pregnant women, patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm or various other abdominal diseases, and spinal fusion surgery with or without instrumentation (screws and metal plates or “cages”). Remember the doctors of the Chicago Anti-Aging Institute will be evaluating each patient individually to see if they are a qualified candidate for therapy.
Although these therapies are a contraindication for Advanced Spinal Traction, the Chicago Anti-Aging Institute does successfully treat pregnant women and people who still experience pain or symptoms from failed spinal fusion surgery.
Advanced Spinal Traction therapy can help people with back and neck pain after failed spinal surgery. It can be performed in most patients who have not been left with an unstable spine after surgery.
The Chicago Anti-Aging Institute understands patients’ pain, frustrations, and uncertainty from failed spinal surgery. Dr. Davis makes it a policy to examine and evaluate patients from failed spinal or carpal tunnel surgery, at no cost or obligation, to determine what therapy is the right choice for that particular condition.
