The vacuum effect created by Advanced Spinal Traction accomplishes two things. From a mechanical standpoint, disc material that has protruded or herniated outside the normal confines of the disc can be decompressed by the vacuum created. Yes, Advanced Spinal Traction is not recommended for pregnant women, patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm or various other abdominal diseases, and spinal fusion surgery with or without instrumentation (screws and metal plates or “cages”).
